The mission and focus of the Procurement Department is to understand business requirements, procures Goods, Works and Services at the bestcost from the source at the right specification that meets the users’ need in the right quantity, for delivery at the right time to achieve the Ministry’s goals and objectives.The Procurement Department also manages the Procurement process.

Functions

The Procurement Department plays a vital part in the Ministry overall business and supply as it requires strategic planning to acquire these at the best possible cost. The functions of Procurement Department are itemized below:

To assist the Accounting Officer in ensuring value for money during the purchase of Goods, Works and Services for the Ministry.
To ensure transparency and equal opportunities to the bidders.
Awards contracts based on the least evaluated and responsive bids.
Disposes all unserviceable items of the Ministry.
Keeps all procurement records of the Ministry.
