Security is Every Body’s Business – Police Affairs Minister

As the year winds up, appraisal of the security challenges and the government’s frantic effort in curbing the situation cannot be over emphasized. This led to the courtesy call of the Abuja Crime Correspondents Courtesy’s call to the Honorable Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammed Maigari Dingyadi on Wednesday, 30th December, 2020.

Speaking at the event, the Honorable Minister said that Nigeria as a nation has faced serious security challenges and there is need for all and sundry to collaborate make frantic effort in making sure that the peace and unity of our dear country is regained fully.

The Minister said that security is everybody’s business, irrespective of the fact that the chunk of the responsibility lies on the federal government and its security agencies.  He noted that Mr. President has put in much effort financially, technologically and will acquired more equipment in his quest to crush insecurity in the country. He said “This will be more visible in the coming year”

While delivering his vote of thanks, the Director of finance and accounts, Ministry of Police Affairs, Mr. Joshua K. Luka tasked the association on the need give out information objectively to ensure peace and unity.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Abuja Crime Correspondents Association, Hassan Zazzi said there is need for the Ministry of police affairs, being the supervising ministry to Nigeria Police Force to collaborate with them in order to achieve its mandate maximally.

Promising to block gaps of misinformation in security reportage, Zazzi said security reportage and the way forward tops the association’s agenda in their forthcoming annual summit.
