Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim is a consummate and international professional with over two decades of technical, administrative, and executive experience across the public, private, and development sectors. She holds an undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of Abuja, and a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master’s of Art in Management (MA), both from Webster University, St Louis, Missouri (London Campus). She is also a distinguished Fellow, Institute of Security Studies (fsi), which she earned after completing the one-year Executive Management Intelligence Course 14. Further demonstrating a relentless thirst for learning and a fervent passion for advancing national security, she is presently engaged in pursuing a Doctoral degree in Security and Strategic Studies at the prestigious Nigeria Defence Academy.
Imaan is a certified SAP HCM consultant who has worked in different organisations and served in various capacities and she has mentored and coached thousands of individuals to self-sufficiency while developing their human capacity for productivity. She served as a member of the Nasarawa State Investment and Economic Advisory Council, between 2019 and 2023, where she brought her wealth of experience in programmes, policy formulation and planning to bear, contributing to the achievement of the agenda of the Governor in attracting investments to the state, raising the State IGR and in improvements in health and education outcomes.
From August 2019 to December 2020, She served as Special Adviser on Strategic Communication and Partnerships to the Minister of State for Education. In this role, she championed the Alternate School Programme as a key intervention to tackle the out of school challenge of the country, and the programme got the approval and commendation of the Federal Exectuvie Council.
She was appointed the DG of The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons in December 2020, where she contributed immensely to the plights of trafficked persons and worked assiduously towards strengthening the national response to addressing Irregular migration. During her watch, the US TIP report ranking upgraded Nigeria from tier 2 watchlist tier 2 status. She was Redeployed and Reappointed by the President as the Honourable Federal Commissioner of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), where she served as Honourable Federal Commissioner (HFC/CEO). At NCFRMI, she initiated an innovative and revolutionary programme tagged “Project 5s”, a robust, impactful and striving intervention which is on track and has been hailed as one of its kind, having transformed the Commission’s interface on programmes implemented to date to tackle critical issues facing Persons of Concerns in Nigeria.
She is an award-winning new generation Politician, a Strategist and a country expert in National Security, conflict management, Human Capital Development and peacebuilding, and an administrator par excellence.
In her current role as the Minister of State for Police Affairs, she leverages her strong academic background, sectoral expertise in security, and her unwavering dedication to Nigeria and her people, to support and strengthen efforts aimed at improving the internal security and development of the Country.
