VISIT BY THE DEPARTMENT TO THE NIGERIA POLICE ACADEMY, WUDIL, KANO
Following the Nigeria Universities Commission approval of the Programmes of the Nigeria Police Academy and the Federal Government's decision that the Institution should commence academic programmes in September, 2012, now shifted to early 2013, the Honourable Minister directed that all hands must be on deck for early take-off of the programmes of the Institution. It is in realisation of this objective, that the Honourable Minister directed the Director, Special Duties to inspect the projects at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano and report the progress of work in the institution to him, the Department compiled with the Honourable Minister's directive.
The Team that visited the Institution discovered that the various projects in the Academy were different stages of completion as follows:
Senate Building - 85%
Faculty Building (A) - 65%
Faculty Building (B) - 70%
Students Hostel 1 - 95%
Students Hostel 2 - 20%
Students Hostel 3 - 90%
Students Hostel 4 - 70%
Students Hostel 5 - 70%
Students Hostel 6 - 60%
Students Hostel 7 - 35%
The recommendations contained in the Report of the Team will assist greatly in the early completion of the various projects in the Academy before the commencement of academic programmes in the Institution in early 2013.
